2 Installation and Operation
WARNING
This device may only be installed and operated when qualified
personnel has made sure that suitable power supplies are used
which ensure no dangerous voltages can get into the device
during normal operation or in the event of an error.
The device can be operated with high pressure. Therefore
serious injury and/or considerable damage to property cannot
be totally ruled out in the event of incorrect handling.
Perfect and reliable functioning of this device depends on
proper transport, storage, installation and assembly as well as
on careful operation and maintenance.

2.1 Installation
a)

There are two installation possibilities (Figure 4):
a) at process connection G½A external thread
b) at process connection G?A internal thread
The position of the device has no influence on the measuring
accuracy.
The permissible temperature limits may not be exceeded. The
process data must be compared with the data on the rating plate
before installation.

2.2 Electrical Connection
The shielded cable must be inserted with two wires through the
screw-type cable gland Pg 9. Only earth the shield of the cable
at one point (preferably in the terminal box). The earth is
connected to the housing.

2.3 Setting
The transmitter is set to the respective range at the factory.
If an additional setting is necessary, the top part with the grip
ring of the connector must be removed.
The output current for the start of scale (4 mA) is set with the Z
potentiometer and the output current for the full scale (20 mA)

If the start of scale is set, the span does not change!
(Span = full scale – start of scale)
The start of scale and span can be changed by ± 10% of the set
range.
2.4 Maintenance
The transmitter is maintenance-free.
The start of scale of the device should be checked occasionally.
