Device Overview
Modes and properties of the mini star coupler:
•
Can be operated in compatibility mode or in extended mode
–
Compatibility mode:
In this mode, it has an optical transmitter and receiver from the master and 4 optical transmitters
and receivers to the end devices.
–
Extended mode:
In this mode, it has 2 optical transmitters and receivers from 2 masters and 3 optical transmitters
and receivers to the end devices.
•
Has an insulated housing and is intended for DIN rail mounting. The snap-on fastener fits a 35 mm
DIN rail, as per DIN EN 50022.
•
The auxiliary voltage is connected via 2 terminals. The large auxiliary voltage ranges of DC 24 V to 250 V
and AC 60 V to 230 V allow connection to all common station batteries or alternating voltage networks.
•
The RS232 interface is connected using the 9-pin X1 D-sub socket. The fiber-optic channels are
connected using ST connectors.
•
Using the isolated signaling contact X7, terminal 1/2, a failure indication can be transmitted to a network
control center in the case of missing auxiliary voltage or a defective internal power supply. In the event of
a fault, the contact is closed.
•
The devices contain no silicone, are halogen-free and flame-resistant.
