Cleaning the Blower
Housing
To ensure proper cooling, ensure that the grass
screen, cooling fins, and other external surfaces of the
engine are kept clean at all times.
Important:
Operating the engine with a blocked
grass screen, dirty or plugged cooling fins, and/or
cooling shrouds removed, will cause engine
damage due to overheating.
Cleaning the Engine Screen
Service Interval: Before each use or daily—Clean
the engine screen, engine-oil cooler,
and the area around the engine.
Before each use or daily—Clean around the
engine-exhaust system.
Before each use remove any buildup of grass, dirt,
or other debris from the engine screen, engine
exhaust, engine-oil cooler, and the area around the
engine. This helps ensure adequate cooling and
correct engine speed and reduces the possibility of
overheating and mechanical damage to the engine.
Cleaning the Cooling
System
Service Interval: Every 400 hours—Check and
clean the engine cooling fins and
shrouds (more often in dirty or dusty
conditions).
