Installing the Switch
To insert an SFP transceiver into the SFP socket, follow these steps:
Attach an ESD grounding strap to your wrist and to ground. (If you are unsure about the correct way to

Remove the SFP transceiver from its protective packaging.

Check the label on the SFP transceiver body to verify that you have the correct model for your network,

and locate the send (Tx) and receive (Rx) markings that identify the top side of the SFP transceiver.

Carefully insert the SFP transceiver halfway into the socket. (See
dust plugs, pivot the transceiver bail-clasp up, and continue sliding the transceiver into the socket until
you feel the SFP transceiver module connector snap into place in the socket connector.
Pivot the SFP transceiver bail-clasp fully down to lock the transceiver in place, and immediately reinstall

On some SFP transceivers, the Tx and Rx marking might be replaced by arrows that point from
the SFP transceiver connector (transmit direction or Tx) to the connector (receive direction or
Rx).
