Overtemperature monitoring functions
SITOP PSU8600 basic units and SITOP CNX8600 expansion modules have integrated
overtemperature monitoring functions. The outputs are shut down if the internal temperature
is inadmissibly high.
Take the following steps after a shutdown as a result of an inadmissibly high internal
temperature:
1. Check the mounting clearances of the devices, see Standard mounting position
(Page 99) and Other mounting positions (Page 101).
Excessively low mounting clearances cause overheating.
2. Measure whether the ambient temperature is permissible, see Environmental conditions
(Page 303).
Identifying a shutdown due to an inadmissible temperature
Basic unit
If an inadmissibly high temperature is detected inside the basic device, the output of the
basic device and the expansion modules being used are switched off.
A shutdown as a result of an inadmissibly high temperature inside the basic units is signaled
by:
● Red LED "OK"
● LEDs "ON/OFF/RST"
● Signaling contact at the basic unit
Outputs
If an inadmissibly high temperature is detected at an output, then the outputs at the
expansion modules are shut down in pairs (1 and 2 or 3 and 4). The remaining outputs
remain switched on.
