    EQUIPMENT FAILURE — Recurring audible alarms are a symptom of a serious system malfunction. Do not just reset the alarm when it occurs. Contact GE Technical Support to correct the problem. Equipment failure could result if the problem is not resolved.

    See Troubleshooting on page 6-1. Unity Network description/connection The ATS, running the ApexPro Host software, is a telemetry component of the Unity Network family of devices. It is also the physical connection point between ApexPro telemetry devices and the CIC Pro center server.

    2-2. Theory of operation ApexPro Telemetry System The ATS is part of the ApexPro Telemetry System. The ApexPro Telemetry System provides real-time patient data/alarms to one or more CIC Pro centers. ApexPro telemetry provides clinicians with patient physiological information while allowing for patient mobility.

NOTE The ApexPro host software application does not provide user accessible functions, but instead relies on remote user interfaces, such as the CIC Pro center.     Unity Network device communication The ApexPro system is a component in the GE Unity Network family of devices. GE Unity Network devices have specific communication requirements and behavior. RWHAT data All Unity Network devices periodically broadcast information about themselves in RWHAT packets.

    An ApexPro tower can contain a pool of up to 16 receivers. Any number of these receivers from this pool can be reserved to only accept admits from specific units.

    Power/grounding requirements Power GE requires the use of a UPS device with the ATS, otherwise, improper shut down of the unit could result from a power outage. Connect only the ATS power cord to the UPS. Do not connect any other devices to the UPS.

    The steps for accessing the ATS vary, depending on whether the ATS was shipped from GE or reimaged from the field. If you received the ATS from GE, use the IP address information on the stickers to access the ATS.

The Transmitters battery status report is a summary of battery life for the ApexPro FH transceivers as well as ApexPro CH, ApexPro, and NEC transmitters. This report is available via Webmin and is printable for all admitted, supported telemetry transmitters.
