    1 Connecting the Speakers The connector and color tube of the speaker cords are the same color as the label of the jacks to be connected. Be sure to match the speaker cords to the appropriate terminals on the speakers: the speaker cord with the color tube to 3, and the speaker cord without the color tube to #.

    Step 3: Performing the Quick Setup Follow the Steps below to make the basic adjustments for using the system. Displayed items vary depending on the country model. Note • When you connect the system and the TV with the component video cord (not supplied) or HDMI cable (not supplied), you need to set the type of video output for matching your TV.

    Changing the sound When the system is playing a DVD VIDEO recorded in multiple audio formats (PCM, Dolby Digital, MPEG audio, or DTS), you can change the audio format. If the DVD VIDEO is recorded with multilingual tracks, you can also change the language.

    Restricting Playback of the Disc [PARENTAL CONTROL] Playback of some DVD VIDEOs can be limited according to a predetermined level such as the age of the users. Scenes may be blocked or replaced with different scenes. You can set the playback restriction by registering a password.

    • After checking the above items and fixing any problems, turn on the system. If the cause of the problem cannot be found even after checking all the above items, consult your nearest Sony dealer. Remedy • The video connecting cords are not connected securely.
  • Page 71 Symptom Remedy Picture noise appears. • The disc is dirty or flawed. • If the picture output from your system goes through your VCR to get to your TV, the copy-protection signal applied to some DVD programs could affect picture quality. If you still experience problems even when you connect your unit directly to your TV, try connecting your unit to your TV’s video input (page 15).
