  • Page 4 Use the rack mount template Know the following about the EIA units located on the front and rear of your rack: Each EIA unit consists of three holes. The holes along the rail within each EIA unit are not evenly spaced. Each EIA unit begins at the point where the hole spacing is closest together.

    Never work from the top down. 3) If you are installing a Model 6C4 into a non-IBM rack, check the alignment pins located on the front and rear of your rails. If they are not the correct diameter, locate the alignment-pin bracket kit, and install the correct alignment pins and pin brackets.
