    v When you plug in your server for the first time, the Wake on LAN feature can turn on the server. If your server was previously turned on, it must be properly turned off for the Wake on LAN feature to turn on the server. Note: When 4 GB or more of memory (physical or logical) is installed, some memory is reserved for various system resources and is unavailable to the operating system.

    Starting the Configuration/Setup Utility program Complete the following steps to start the Configuration/Setup Utility program: 1. Turn on the server. 2. When the prompt Press F1 for Configuration/Setup appears, press F1. If you have set both a power-on password and an administrator password, you must type the administrator password to access the full Configuration/Setup Utility menu.

    Setup and configuration overview When you use the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD, you do not need setup diskettes. You can use the CD to configure any supported IBM server model. The ServerGuide program checks your system BIOS, service processors, and other system hardware to determine if system updates are available.
