9.7 Protection Devices

There are a few suitable protection de-
vices for the Bypass/Isolation Automatic
Transfer Switch that can be added as an
option. If you select the OVR surge pro-
tection device, it is recommended to use
it together with fuse disconnector. The
surge protection device integrated in the
ATS switch (type TPME_) can be used in-
dependently. When ordered, either option
is installed in working order at the
factory.

9.7.1 Surge Protection Device OVR

OVR range is designed to prevent electri-
cal systems and equipment against tran-
sitory surges and impulses caused by
lightning and operations on the electrical
grid. Suitable also for UL installations.
OVR type 2 is designed to protect electric
installations and sensitive equipment
against indirect surges with ensuring a
low protection level (Up). Take a closer

Replacement Cartridges:
• Phase OVRT240550CU

9.7.2 Fuse Disconnector

Fuse Disconnector is needed for OVR
Surge Protection Device. The recom-
mended type is:
• ABB Fuse Disconnector E93/50
- 2CSM277962R1801
- 2CSM256333R1801
