Installing and Connecting the Router
Cisco 1900 Series Router Wiring Procedure for DC Input
To connect a router to a DC power source, perform the following steps.
Procedure
Remove power from the DC circuit. To ensure that power is removed from the DC circuit, locate the

circuit breaker for the DC circuit, switch the circuit breaker to the OFF position, and tape the
circuit-breaker switch in the OFF position.
Before performing any of the following procedures, ensure that power is removed from the DC circuit.

Secure all power cabling when installing this unit to avoid disturbing field-wiring connections.

When stranded wiring is required, use approved wiring terminations, such as closed-loop or
spade-type with upturned lugs. These terminations should be the appropriate size for the wires and
should clamp both the insulation and conductor. Statement 1002
Remove the plastic safety cover from the terminal block. Save the plastic safety cover, which you will

put back on.
Remove the negative and positive screws from the terminal block. You do not need to remove any other

screws. Save the screws, which will be used to attach the wires to the terminals.
Use the screws to connect the black wire to the negative terminal and the white wire to the positive

terminal. Tighten the terminal screws to 8.0 ± 0.5 in-lb (0.9 ± 0.05 N-m). See
