    WS5100 Series Switch Installation Guide 4.2 Configuring the WS5100 IP Address Before you can set the switch’s preliminary configuration using the Web UI, the IP address assigned to the switch must be known. By default the switch uses virtual LAN 1, which is mapped to Ethernet port 2 for the switch default wired LAN management port.

Use the Country drop-down menu to assign the switch a country of operation. Selecting the country is central to legally operating a WS5100. Each country has its own regulatory restrictions concerning electromagnetic emissions and the maximum RF signal strength that can be transmitted.

The WS5100, other proprietary routers and Motorola MUs use the algorithm to convert an ASCII string to the same hexadecimal number. MUs without Motorola adapters need to use WEP keys manually configured as hexadecimal numbers.
