5 SETUP FLOW ABOUT SETUP Initial Device Setup First of all, you must set up how this equipment is managed and works as copier, printer, scan- ner, and facsimile. This equipment can be used with the default settings, but some must be con- figured for this equipment works properly.
INITIAL DEVICE SETUP Before starting to use this equipment as a copier, printer, scanner, and facsimile, it is recom- mended to configure the general device settings on this equipment. Following table shows the minimum setup required after you power on this equipment at the first time.
5 SETUP FLOW SETUP FLOW FOR TopAccess Users and an administrator can remotely manage the equipment using TopAccess, web-based utility. Once TopAccess is enabled, users can view the device information, and manage their jobs remotely from the computer using the web browser. Also TopAccess allows users to register the address book and templates using TopAccess.

5 SETUP FLOW Setup Flow for User Management Setting When you want to manage the authentication for each individual user, enable the User Manage- ment Setting. This equipment supports the following methods for the User Management Setting. Windows Domain Authentication When you network manages the network users using the Windows Domain, this equipment can be managed using the Windows Domain Authentication.
Setup Flow for User Authentication for Scan to E-mail When the User Authentication for Scan to E-mail is enabled, users must enter the user name and password that has the access privilege for the SMTP server before performing Scan to E- mail.

Setup Flow for USB Printing This equipment can be used as printer connected with a USB cable. When it is connected with a USB cable, it does not require an initial setup. After you connect this equipment and your com- puter, install the printer drivers and then it provides USB printing features.
