The Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband will allow you to network wirelessly better than ever, sharing Internet access, files and fun, easily and securely.

    Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband Linksys recommends using the Setup CD-ROM for first-time installation of the Router. If you do not wish to run the Setup Wizard on the Setup CD-ROM, then use the instructions in this Guide to help you connect the Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband, set it up, and configure it to bridge your different networks.

    Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband Chapter 2: Planning Your Wireless Network Network Topology A wireless local area network (WLAN) is exactly like a regular local area network (LAN), except that each computer in the WLAN uses a wireless device to connect to the network. Computers in a WLAN share the same frequency channel and SSID, which is an identification name shared by the wireless devices belonging to the ssid (service set identifier): your wireless network’s name.
  • Page 15 3G/UMTS Broadband’s four Ethernet LAN ports. To add more ports, any of the Router's LAN ports can be connected to any of Linksys's switches. With these, and many other Linksys products, your networking options are limitless.     Wireless-G Router for 3G/UMTS Broadband Placement Options There are three ways to place the Router. The first way is to place it horizontally on a surface, so it sits on its four rubber feet. The second way is to stand the Router vertically on a surface. The third way is to mount it on a wall. The second and third options are explained in further detail below.

Based on the settings of the SIM card, the following information will be displayed: Home Network, Service, 3G/UMTS/GPRS Connection, APN, Username (depending on the country), Password (depending on the country), and Pin Code (depending on the SIM card). Service - Select the appropriate services from the Service options: 3G/UMTS Preferred (Recommended), 3G/UMTS Only, or GPRS Only.

    17. The Setup Wizard will ask you to enter the settings for your wireless network. Wireless Network Name - In the Wireless Network Name field, enter the name of your wireless network, also called the SSID. The name must be identical for all devices in the network. The default setting is linksys (all lowercase).
