Grounding

When dimensioning the voltage supply, consider the maximum currents (see
DIN VDE 0100-523). A voltage of 20.4 ... 28.8 V must be applied directly to the
unit.
The voltage must be observed even if
there are variations in the line voltage, for instance caused by differing
loads of the power supply network,
there are varying load states, such as short-circuit, normal load, lamp load,
or no load.
The maximum line cross-section for the voltage supply is 1.5 mm
A main switch according to DIN VDE 0100 must be provided for the IndraCon‐
trol L45/L65/L85 as well as sensors and actuators.
Fuses and circuit-breakers protect the supply lines in a network. The lines of
the voltage supply of the IndraControl L45/L65/L85 must be protected. The
sensor supply and the actuator supply should each be protected by a separate
fuse. If the supply lines are shorter than 3 m and are placed such that they are
protected from ground faults and short-circuits, it is not necessary to provide
fuses.
Further criteria for the selection of protective devices are:
Nominal voltage
Temperature
Internal resistances of the fuses
Inrush currents
Cable lengths
External impedance of the power supply system
Possible fault location
Vibration

Dimensioning and protecting lines and cables according to DIN 57 100, VDE
0100–430 and –523.
Appropriate information is also provided by many manufacturers of fuses and
circuit-breakers.
An optimum grounding
is required to keep away possible interferences from the IndraControl L45/L65/
L85 and from the Rexroth Inline terminals and to discharge them to the ground.
The top-hat rail, which is used for mounting the IndraControl L45/L65/L85, must
be mounted to a grounded metal carrier, e. g. the rear panel of the control
cabinet.
