W ARNING! Never use a machine that has

fa ul ty safety equipment! If your machine
fa ils any checks contact your service
agent to get it repaired.
To prevent accidental starting, the steps
described in this chapter must be
performed with the motor off and the
power cable removed from the socket, if
not otherwi se stated.
This s ection descr ib es the mac hine´s safety equipment,
its purpose, and how checks and maintenance should be
c arried out to ensure that it operates correctly.
Thr ottle lockout and ON/OFF valve for the
water
The throttle loc kout is designed to prevent accidental
acti vation of the throttle and regulate t he water on/off
valve.
When you press the lock (1) into the handle (i.e. when you
grasp the handle) it opens the water v alve and releases
t he throt tle control (2).

When the grip on the handle is released, both the t hrottle
and throttle lockout return to their original positions. In this
position, the machine will s top and the throttle will be
locked, while the water valve returns t o c losed position.

MA CHINE´S SAFETY EQ UIPMENT
Che c king the throttle lockout
Make s ure the power trigger is locked when t he power
trigger lock is i n it s original position.
Press the throttle lockout and make s ure it returns to
it s original position when you release it.
Check that the power trigger and the power trigger
lo ckout move f reely and t hat the return s pring works
properly.
Thr ottle and brake
The throttle is used to star t , brake and regulate thrott le
actuation.
Che c king throttle and brake
Apply throttle and rev up the machine, release the
throttle and see if the motor and cutting blade stop
with in 10 seconds.
Blade guar d
This guard is fi tt ed above the cutting blade and is
designed to prevent parts of the blade or cutting
fragments from being thrown t owards the user.
