Text-mode setup
The installation process will now begin. The screens in this section will not
necessarily follow consecutively. Only those important to 64-bit and the x455 are
listed. For all other screens please read carefully and choose options appropriate
to your installation.
If you are using the serial port as an auxiliary console, when you see the Setup
is starting Windows message on the video display, the auxiliary console (a
terminal session via the serial port) will stop functioning. This is normal. If you
are using the RSA Remote Console feature, the session will continue.
If you install the operating system on a disk without the EFI System Partition (that
is, a first-time installation), you will be asked to create one, as shown in
Figure 4-41.

Setup could not locate an existing system partition.
System partitions contains diagnostic or hardware configuration
programs, programs to start operating systems (such as Windows), or
other manufacturer-supplied programs.
Setup will try to create a system partition for you automatically.
To allow Setup to create a system partition, press ENTER.
If you want to create a system partition on your own, press ESC.

Allow Setup to create the EFI System Partition by pressing Enter.
Tip: At this point, in addition to the EFI System Partition, Setup also creates
the Microsoft Reserved Partition (see "Microsoft Reserved Partition" on
page 137).
If the disk you are installing on is still the old Master Boot Record (MBR)
partitioning structure, you should delete all partitions, and press S to change to a
GUID Partition Table (GPT) partitioning structure. The OS loader and the boot
partition must reside on a GPT disk (see figure 4-42).
