Diagnostic information Start CAUTION: Remove the power cord from the printer or wall outlet before you connect or disconnect any cable or electronic board or assembly for personal safety and to prevent damage to the printer. Use the handholds on the side of the printer. Make sure your fingers are not under the printer when you lift or set the printer down.

    Understanding the printer operator panel The operator panel on your printer is a 4-line back-lit gray scale display that can show both graphics and text. The Back, Menu, and Stop buttons are located to the left of the display, the navigation buttons are located below the display, and the numeric pad is located to the right of the display.

    Operator panel (continued) Button Function Numeric pad The numeric pad consists of numbers, a pound '#' sign, and a backspace button. The 5 button has a raised bump for non-visual orientation.
