Select "Local printer" or "Network
printer" according to the type of
printing mode.
G When the machine is connected in the local
area network with the TCP/IP protocol, select
"Local printer". Printing can be performed using
the TCP/IP Printing. See "When Using the
TCP/IP Printing" and continue the installation.
G When the machine is connected to the Internet
or Intranet, select "Network printer". Printing
can be performed using the IPP, Internet
Printing Protocol . See "When Using the IPP"
and continue the installation.
When Using the TCP/IP Printing
When the printer is connected to the local area network with TCP/IP, printing can be performed
by designating the TCP/IP port.

Select "Local printer".
G Check off "Automatically detect and install my
Plug and Play printer".

Select "Create a new port" and select
"Standard TCP/IP Port" at "Type",
then click on [Next].
G The Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard
appears.
