Installation of the Network Driver
In the course of the WINDOWS 98 setup program, Windows 98 detects the
network components. Proceed as follows to install the network component:
S If the window "New hardware component found" – "Intel 82559 Fast Ethernet
LAN on Motherboard" is displayed, please insert the "Backup PG720/740" CD
and actuate the "Ok" button in the "Insert data carrier" window.
S Select the option "Search" in the "Insert data carrier" window and navigate in
the directory \Drivers\PG740P3\Network\IntE100b on the CD.
S Select the file e100b.cat and confirm your selection with "Ok".
S Actuate the "Ok" button in the "Insert data carrier" window.
Subsequent Installation of the Network Driver
In order to be able to install the network driver without an inserted active network
cable, you have to set the Onboard Ethernet network card from "Auto" to "Enabled"
in the BIOS Setup.
S Copy the network driver files from the directory
\Drivers\PG740P3\Network\IntE100b on the CD-ROM "Backup PG720/740" to
the directory
C:\Drivers\Network\IntE100b on the hard disk.
S Double click on "Network" in the control panel.
S Select the option "Add", "Adapter" and confirm your selection with "Add".
S Select the button "Have Disk" in the "Add network card" window.
S Using the option "Browse" in the following window, either go to the directory
C:\Drivers\Network\IntE100b on the hard disk, or insert the "Backup
PG720/740" CD and navigate in the subdirectory
\Drivers\PG740P3\Network\IntE100b.
S Select the file "Oemsetup.inf" and confirm your selection with "Ok".
S Actuate the "Ok" button in the "Install from floppy disk" window.
S Select the device "Intel (R) 82559 Fast Ethernet LAN on Motherboard" in the
"Select Network Card" window and confirm with "Ok".
S Confirm the "Network" window with "Ok".
S Close all windows and carry out a restart.
S After the restart, insert the "Backup PG720/740" CD and confirm the "Insert
disk" window with "Ok".
S Input the path \Drivers\PG740P3\Network\IntE100b in the "Files being copied"
window and confirm with "Ok".
S After a restart, the network component is completely installed.
After the installation is complete, the network card "Intel(R) 82559 Fast Ethernet
LAN on Motherboard" should be installed in Control panel > Network.
