CARBURETTOR
Throttle shafts
Leakage at the throttle shafts will cause an incorrect fuel/air mixture and dust
will penetrate the engine.
Check that the throttle shafts have no radial gap. Damper shafts and seals can
be replaced. If a gap in the throttle shafts occurs, you can assume that the carbu-
rettor is badly worn and you should consider replacing the whole carburettor.

Adjust outdoors
Naturally the idle speed must be adjusted outdoors because of exhaust fumes.
The cutting blade must be fitted.
– Run the machine warm for approximately 5 minutes.
– Keep the instrument with the arrow directed downwards towards the
position of the spark plug.
– Adjust the idle screw to an idle speed of approximately 2500 rpm. The
cutting blade must not rotate at this speed.
– If the cutting blade rotates, the clutch is defective and must be fixed.
Adjust the throttle wire play
After using the machine a while, or when the throttle wire has
been replaced, you may need to adjust the throttle wire play.
Adjustment is done using the screw as shown. Adjust to a
level where a small play can be felt in the throttle.
The carburettor and the throttle wire must be fitted on the
machine to make this adjustment.
Adjustment
The carburettor has a fixed high speed nozzle while the low
speed nozzle can be adjusted.

needle. Fine tuning is done when the engine has warmed
up. Make rapid accelerations from idle speed and adjust to
a position that provides rapid and distinct acceleration.
When the throttle is released, the revs must drop quickly.
A poor setting means a delayed reduction in speed.
Idle speed, B
The idling screw actuates the throttle valve's opening
mechanically. Use special tool (501 60 02-03). Adjust as
described below.

The instrument is induction sensing and does not need to
be connected directly to the ignition lead. The air filter
cover can be fitted when testing.
The supplied antenna cable does not normally need to be
used.
